21st November, 2007. 6:31 pm. This is Cute

My mother inlaw sent me this today and I thought it was cute so I'm sharing.

1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon
as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy.

2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.

3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.
      Preparing for the Birth:

1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.

2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time,
      breathing didn't do a thing.

3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your eighth month.
      The Layette :

      1st baby: You pre-wash newborn's clothes, color-coordinate them,
and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.

2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean
and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.

3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?

1st baby: At the first sign of distress--a whimper,
a frown--you pick up the baby.

2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails
      threaten to wake your firstborn.

3rd baby: You teach your three-year-old how
      to rewind the mechanical swing.

1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away
until you can go home and wash and boil it.

2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor,
you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle.

3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.

1st baby: You change your baby's diapers every hour,
whether they need it or not.

2nd baby: You change their diaper every
two to three hours, if needed.

3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others
start to complain about the smell or
you see it sagging to their knees.

1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics,
Baby Swing, and Baby Story Hour .

2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.

3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket
      and the dry cleaner.
      Going Out:

1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter,
      you call home five times.

2nd baby : Just before you walk out the door,
you remember to leave a number where you can be reached.

3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she
      sees blood.
      At Home:

1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.

2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure
your older child isn't squeezing, poking or hitting the baby

3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the
      Swallowing Coins:

1st child: When first child swallows a coin,
you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays.

2nd child: When second child swallows a coin,
you carefully watch for the coin to pass.

3rd child: When third child swallows a coin,
you deduct it from his allowance!

Pass this on to everyone you know who has children . . .
or everyone who KNOWS someone who has had children ..
(The older the mother, the funnier this is!)

God's reward for allowing your children to live!

9th July, 2007. 1:49 am. Thank You Ashley

Saturday we went to see Taylor Hicks in Virginia and it was a really awesome show. I couldn't ask for better seating either. Chris and I sat in the 2nd row slightly to the left (Taylor's left) of center stage. We were so close to Taylor I could have stood up, walked maybe 2-3 feet and touched him. We had gold circle seats and when they finally let us in, Chris and I were walking really fast (so we didn't get in trouble for running) and once I spotted the 2 empty chairs, I didn't stop until my butt was in one and prayed Chris was behind me the whole time. LOL

The band that opened for him was the Chris Adams Band. They were really good too and their drummer is F-I-N-E, fine!. I would have bought one of their Cd's while I was there but I wasn't about to give up my seat. I took a couple of test shots to see how the pictures were going to turn out and I was thrilled!

Taylor finally got on stage around 8:00 and I didn't sit down the whole time. I found it really hard to even think about sitting because he was all keyed up and had everyone in the crowd going except this lady in front of us who had her 2 boys with her and the whole time they played with their dang transformers. I was almost tempted to ask her to trade seats with us since her children were obviously not interested. He done a lot of songs from his "Under the Radar" CD and in one of songs tied in a little Pink Floyd which was really freakin cool. He also done a train solo with his harmonica and then threw it out into the crowd for some lucky soul to catch. It was funny while he was doing his solo because the band was still playing and he wanted them quiet so he kept waving his arm to quiet them down until they finally just stopped. An hour passed by way too quickly and the show was over. Of course he had an encore song and sang "Takin it to the Streets" which has always been one of my faves. His Cd's really doesn't do him justice. Seeing him live is way better and I wish he'd make a live CD. It'd prolly cost $30 but it'd be money well spent. I took lots of great pictures that I will share :D

After the show people were lined up at the tour buses in hopes of seeing Taylor one last time and catching an autograph. My Ashley gave me her journal and asked me to try and get it signed for her since she couldn't go with us. I told her I couldn't promise anything but I'd try my best. I made my way to the front of the crowd and got a great shot of him (see the icon) signing autographs a couple feet away and he moved further down the line trying to sign as many as he could. Around 10:00 security said it was time to wrap things up and he was about 4 feet in front me walking away and I went into some sort of mommy mode and said "Taylor wait!" He turned around and I told him I had my daughter's journal and asked him if he would sign it. I pointed out the note she wrote to him that read "Please, I would be the happiest girl in the world Love (her name)" Then on the page below it she wrote his name where she wanted him to sign. While he was signing he was reading what she wrote and was getting ready to hand it back and something caught his eye and he added more. When he gave it back, I closed it and thanked him profusely. I was so happy I got that autograph and couldn't wait to tell Ashley.

Chris was gonna try and get his CD signed a 2nd time and security gave the 2nd warning for people to go so they could leave. Chris said out loud "Oh so close, one more please" and Taylor heard him and was gonna come back to sign the CD but security was getting a little impatient. They made eye contact though and Chris told him it was all good, maybe next time and Taylor smiled at him and security whisked him away to the bus. At this point I had not read the autograph so when we got under a street lamp Chris and I read it. He signed it and off to the side wrote "I love you too..." I wish I could have hugged his neck. I knew Ashley was gonna be thrilled.  We called her as soon as we got on the highway and told her the good news. She has been bouncing off the walls and driving my poor dad crazy today waiting for me to get off of work so she could see it. She had showed it to everyone she can. Chris and I are keeping close tabs on her journal too because she sometimes likes to leave things out.

We are very grateful he signed Ashley's journal and we have left him messages on his MySpace. Ashley left him a little note in the message Chris left for him too. It would be really cool if he replied back but I know he's a busy man. None of this would have been possible had it not been for  Ashley M (quilljunky).  Sadly she had to work and wasn't able to make the trip. I am very glad Chris and I had this chance to go. We called her after the show too and Chris expressed many thanks. I think she was just as excited as we were. She was very happy to hear we got an autograph :D

And for the moment y'all been waiting for....

Current mood: excited.

1st July, 2007. 1:52 pm. Diet Update Month 3

I need a really BIG pool.

We went swimming last night at a friend's b-day party and eventhough we were only in the pool for about an hour I still lost off a couple more pounds making my total weightloss to date 16 lbs :) Current weight 201 lbs. That's pretty good for being on a diet only 3 months. I haven't been very faithful to my diet the past couple of weeks either and I had alot of goodies that were a big no no last night at the party but they oh so yummy!! I've seriously got to make a better effort to exercise more though. We have a treadmill that Chris' mom gave us but I really don't like the incline on it because it can't be adjusted. I do use it though just not enough. Chris wants to go walking in the development right across from us but it's been too hot even in the evenings. I really need to stop talking about going to aerobics class and find one.

Current mood: determined.

24th April, 2007. 10:13 pm. Diet day 24

Things are still going fairly well. Who woulda thought AF would tack on 3 lbs!! I'm not updating my ticker until she's gone! I pulled my back muscles last week working out then bowled on top of that so exercise was very limited and I'm sure that didn't help either. My back is way better this week so it's back on the treadmill. Tonight we ate out at Golden Corral and we done good!! I have learned to like sugar free drinks and I can now tolorate sugar free tea with Equal as my sweetner. In the past stuff with aspertame would give me a headache but alot of the things I've been eating and drinking have that stuff in there but I'm not getting the headaches. Perhaps my body needed time to adjust?

Current mood: determined.

16th April, 2007. 5:23 pm. Diet Update Day 16

Who woulda thunk that blowing your diet for just one day would have added 2 lbs! Well it did. Ashley's B-day party was friday and I had cake and chips. I've manage to work them back off but no more blowing my diet!! I've also started exercising and my upper back is so sore. I'm not as hungry as I have been either so that's good too. Current weight is 210 lbs.

8th April, 2007. 9:29 pm. Diet Day 8

My weekly home weigh in was exciting this morning. We have been on our diet for a week and I've already lost 7 lbs!!! I am so happy and proud of myself. I must update my ticker too. Today was kinda ruff because there was temptation everywhere. I love Easter and all the candy that comes with it but I have been GOOD!! I did have some candy today but this candy has 0 Carbs and tasted fairly great :) It's called Go Lightly Fruit Chews. I have learned this week that you can subtract sugar alcohol and dietary fiber from the total carbs and it's actually less than what's listed! YAY I had three pieces of chocolate candy that had a total of 2 net carbs mmMmMmmmm This week will be week 2 of our induction and I hope it goes as well or better than week one. We have to be good this whole week though because Ashley's B-day party is Friday and I want cake!! :)

Current mood: determined.

4th April, 2007. 9:07 pm. Diet Day 5

I am actually starting to get full. So far day 2 of this diet has been the worst. I wanted to go and eat every piece of bread and pasta we have in this house but thanks to my wondeful hubby  who has been very patient with me, I've not cheated really bad and have already lost 5 lbs. I am learning that alot of the foods I like have no carbs and this makes me very happy! Last night I was looking at myself in the mirror and to me it looks like I've lost an inch or two. Then again it could have been the clothes I was wearing. I can't wait to weigh myself this Sunday and see what else I've lost. I need to start walking my treadmill  too and I'm thinking about doing tae bo again. I had so much energy when I done that. I'm really interested in doing Pilates though and I seen this thing at the Mall that was on clearance for like $10 and it was Pilates for Beginners. It had a DVD and other stuff to show you how to do it. One of my co-workers said her daughter is doing it and she loves it. So I might skip the tae bo. Maggie and Kevin are going to start their lifestyle change after Easter and I can hardly wait. Hopefully I can get my brother (Bobby) back on his diet too. I don't want him to become diabetic like my grandpa because it runs in our family which is a huge reason why I'm trying to lose weight and eat right. It would be really nice if his wife would help him because I know w/o Chris I would have said screw this already. I need to start looking up some recipes so I don't get bored with meals :)

Current mood: determined.
